Here is a little bit about me…
I am a proud mom to a toddler (who I love to have in the kitchen with me) and a baby. LIFE IS BUSY! Motherhood is the greatest gift I have ever been given but has also presented its challenges, which has helped me look at health in a whole new light. Not only am I responsible for my own health these days but of the health of my children, so finding new approaches to serving meals and finding the time to not compromise my eating habits has been my latest mountain to climb.
My Goal
My goal is to try to fit nutrient packed meals into your families lifestyles however that works for you. This could be helping to teach you to cook, providing family friendly recipes/meal plans, helping with ideas for those picky eaters, or even just holding your hand to show you where to start. I want child to learn to appreciate what goes in their bodies and know how to prepare things for themselves so they can master the life skill of cooking.
My Health Journey
Growing up I would say I had a pretty normal life food wise, my parents never had me on any specific diets, but with being in sports and both of my parents working full time, sitting down and eating home cooked meals as a family every night was never a priority. We ate out at least once a week at fast food places, and things that came from a box were always easy. In my late teens/early twenties my health began to decline fast and modern medicine didn’t seem to have a solution. This is when I turned to nutrition! I changed my diet, started eating whole foods, taking supplements, and ended up going back to school for holistic nutrition. This was probably the best thing I could have done for myself and now everyday forward I choose to stick to it because it makes me a better, happier, healthier person.
